EV Charging Features Added — July 2026
OTZOO now includes EV Charging features (OTZOO Energy). This policy has been updated to cover EV-specific data including station bookings, vehicle profiles, host charger registrations, car verification documents, and payment data related to EV charging sessions.
Welcome to Otzoo — India's Real-Time Local Discovery & EV Charging Platform. Otzoo connects users with local shops, services, home help, properties, and EV charging stations in their area. Otzoo also operates the Otzoo Growth Partner Program and the OTZOO Energy platform — India's first unified EV charging ecosystem with OCPI 2.2.1 and Beckn/UEI protocol support.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our Android application, including all features such as business listings, EV charging discovery and booking, Host Your Charger, subscriptions, and the Growth Partner Program.
By downloading, installing, or using the Otzoo application, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Privacy Policy.
🔒 We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal data is never sold to third parties for commercial purposes.
We collect the following categories of information to provide and improve our services:
Account Information:
- Full name and email address (via Google Sign-In)
- Phone number (for business registration and account verification)
- Profile photo (optional, from Google account)
- City and state (for localised search features)
Business Listing Information:
- Business name, category, address, and contact details
- Business photos and description
- Operating hours and services offered
- Subscription plan details
⚡ EV Charging Information (OTZOO Energy):
- EV vehicle profiles (vehicle name, connector type, range — no vehicle registration number stored unless voluntarily provided)
- EV charging station booking details (station ID, slot date/time, duration, amount paid)
- EV charging session data (start/end time, energy consumed, payment status)
- Community verification submissions (charger working status, queue status, out-of-service reports)
- Station reviews and ratings submitted by you
- EV route planner searches (origin/destination city — not stored persistently)
- Queue join/leave activity at charging stations
⚡ Host Your Charger Information:
- Host name, phone number (must match registered account)
- Charger type, power rating, connector type, price per kWh
- Availability schedule (days and hours)
- Charger GPS location (precise coordinates captured via device GPS)
- UPI ID (for receiving payment from booking users)
- Parking availability and access instructions
⚡ Car Verification Information (for Host Charger bookings):
- Vehicle registration number (car number plate) — submitted by user when booking a private/host charger
- ID proof type and number (Driving Licence, Aadhaar, Passport, or Voter ID) — submitted voluntarily for host verification
- This data is shared only with the specific charger host for verification purposes and auto-deleted after 30 days
Growth Partner Information (if you apply):
- Full name, phone number, email address, city, state
- Identity documents (Aadhaar/PAN for India)
- Bank account details for payout processing
- Referral activity, commission records, and payout history
Technical and Usage Data:
- Device model, OS version, app version
- IP address and approximate location (country/city level)
- App usage patterns and feature interactions
- Crash reports and error logs
Payment Information:
- Payment transaction IDs (processed by Razorpay/Cashfree — we do not store card or UPI credentials)
- EV charging booking amounts and payment status
- Subscription plan purchased and date of purchase
- Payout details for Growth Partners
Your information is used solely for the following purposes:
- Creating and managing your Otzoo account
- Displaying relevant local shops, services, and properties near you
- Enabling business owners to create, manage, and promote their listings
- Processing subscription payments and maintaining subscription records
- ⚡ Displaying nearby EV charging stations on the map with real-time availability
- ⚡ Processing EV charging slot bookings and UPI payments
- ⚡ Managing host charger registrations and peer-to-peer booking flow
- ⚡ Sharing car verification details with the specific charger host for identity verification
- ⚡ Computing and displaying community reliability scores for EV stations
- ⚡ Syncing EV station data from Open Charge Map API and government sources
- Verifying Growth Partner applications and managing commissions
- Sending transactional notifications (booking confirmations, payment receipts)
- Complying with legal obligations under applicable Indian law
- Improving the app through anonymised analytics and crash reports
⚠️ We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing or sell it to advertisers. Car verification documents (vehicle number, ID proof) are shared only with the specific host charger owner and are auto-deleted after 30 days.
The Otzoo Growth Partner Program requires additional sensitive data to facilitate commission payouts. By applying to the program, you expressly consent to the following:
- Your identity documents (Aadhaar, PAN, or equivalent) are collected solely for KYC verification
- Your bank account details are stored securely and used only for processing commission payouts
- Your referral activity, earnings, and payout records are maintained for accounting and audit purposes
- Otzoo reserves the right to share your KYC and financial data with regulatory authorities if required by law
- Commission records are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required under Indian financial regulations
🔒 Growth Partner documents are never shared with third parties for commercial purposes. Access is restricted to verified Otzoo administrators only.
OTZOO Energy collects specific data to operate India's unified EV charging ecosystem. This section explains how EV-related data is handled:
5.1 Station Discovery Data
- EV station data (name, location, connector type, availability) is sourced from Open Charge Map API, Government EV datasets, and host registrations — this is public/aggregated data
- Your search queries and map interactions are not stored persistently
- Station availability data syncs weekly from Open Charge Map (Wednesday 2AM IST)
5.2 Booking & Payment Data
- EV slot bookings are stored with station ID, date, time, duration, amount, and payment status
- Payment processing is handled by Razorpay/Cashfree — OTZOO does not store payment credentials
- Booking history is accessible by you in "My Bookings" and retained for 2 years
5.3 Community Verification Data
- When you submit a station verification (working/broken/queue), your user ID is linked to the verification for reliability score calculation
- Verification data is displayed anonymously — other users see the result, not your identity
- False or malicious reports may result in account penalties
5.4 Host Charger Data
- Your host charger listing (name, location, charger type, price, timing, UPI ID) is publicly visible to EV users on the map
- Your precise GPS coordinates are stored to accurately display your charger on the map
- Your UPI ID is stored and used solely for receiving payments from booking users
- You can deactivate or delete your listing at any time from the Host Dashboard
5.5 Car Verification Data (Private Host Charger Bookings)
- When booking a private/host charger, you may be required to submit your vehicle registration number and an ID proof type/number
- This data is encrypted and shared only with the specific charger host for their verification
- Car verification data is automatically deleted from our servers after 30 days
- OTZOO does not use car verification data for any other purpose
- Hosts are prohibited from storing, copying, or misusing this verification data
5.6 OCPI & Beckn Protocol Data
- OTZOO operates an OCPI 2.2.1 server and Beckn/UEI BAP+BPP server for CPO integrations
- When CPO partners push station/session data via OCPI, that data is stored in our ev_stations and ev_sessions tables
- Beckn protocol transaction IDs and session data are logged for debugging and compliance
- CPO partner credentials (tokens) are stored encrypted and never exposed to end users
⚡ OTZOO Energy is protocol-first: we work with OCPI 2.2.1, Beckn/UEI, and Open Charge Map. No proprietary lock-in. Station data from all sources is merged into one open database and displayed transparently to users.
Otzoo uses your device location to display nearby shops, services, properties, and EV charging stations. Location access is required for core features of the application to function correctly.
- Location is accessed only while you are actively using the app — we do not track location in the background
- Your precise location coordinates are stored only when you actively post a Signal or register a host charger
- ⚡ For EV charging, your location is used to find nearby stations and calculate distance — not stored persistently
- ⚡ Host charger GPS coordinates are stored precisely to accurately pin your charger on the map for EV users
- You may deny location permission; basic app features will remain accessible
- Location data is never used for advertising profiling or sold to third parties
Otzoo uses the following third-party services. Each has its own Privacy Policy which we recommend reviewing:
- Google Sign-In — Secure authentication. Google Privacy Policy applies.
- Supabase — Database, file storage, and backend services. Data stored with encryption at rest.
- Razorpay / Cashfree — Payment processing for subscriptions and EV charging bookings (PCI-DSS compliant). We never store card, UPI, or net banking credentials.
- Google AdMob — Advertisement display on the free tier.
- Firebase (Google) — Push notifications.
- ⚡ Open Charge Map (OCM) — EV station data API. OCM data is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.
- ⚡ OSRM (OpenStreetMap Routing Machine) — Free route calculation for EV Route Planner. No personal data is sent to OSRM.
- ⚡ Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) — Free geocoding for city search. No personal data stored by Nominatim.
- ⚡ Railway (deployment) — OCPI and Beckn server hosting. Servers hosted on Railway cloud infrastructure.
We implement robust technical and organisational measures to protect your data:
- All data transmission is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols
- Authentication is handled via Google OAuth 2.0 — passwords are never stored by Otzoo
- Database access is governed by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies
- Growth Partner documents are stored in a private, access-controlled Supabase Storage bucket
- Payment processing is fully delegated to Razorpay/Cashfree
- ⚡ EV charging booking data is stored in encrypted Supabase tables with RLS — only you can access your own booking history
- ⚡ Car verification documents (vehicle number, ID proof) are encrypted and auto-deleted after 30 days
- ⚡ OCPI partner tokens and Beckn signing keys are stored as encrypted environment variables — never in the database
- ⚡ Host charger UPI IDs are stored encrypted and displayed only to booking users for payment purposes
⚠️ While we employ industry-standard security measures, no internet-based system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data only in the following limited circumstances:
- To authorised service providers (Razorpay, Cashfree, Supabase, Firebase, Google) strictly for operating the app
- ⚡ To CPO partners (Pulse Energy, Statiq, Tata Power EV, etc.) via OCPI 2.2.1 protocol — only session/token data required for charging, not personal identity data
- ⚡ Car verification details (vehicle number, ID type/number) shared only with the specific host charger owner — never with other parties
- To regulatory or law enforcement authorities when required by applicable Indian law
- In the event of a merger or acquisition — you will be notified before data is transferred
Business listing and host charger information you publish on Otzoo is publicly visible to other app users — this is the intended purpose of listing features.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information in your profile
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- ⚡ EV Data Deletion: Request deletion of your EV booking history, vehicle profiles, and host charger listings
- ⚡ Car Verification Data: Auto-deleted after 30 days — no action required
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
- Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time

Otzoo displays advertisements via Google AdMob on the free tier. Paid subscribers and Growth Partners may see reduced or no advertisements.
- AdMob may use device identifiers for personalised ad targeting
- You can opt out via your device settings (Google Settings → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation)
- ⚡ EV charging screens (map, booking, route planner) display minimal or no ads to ensure a safe driving experience
- Otzoo does not allow advertisers to access your personal data directly
We retain your data for the following periods:
- Account data: Until you delete your account, plus 90 days for backup purposes
- Business listing data: Until the listing is deleted or the account is closed
- ⚡ EV booking history: 2 years from booking date
- ⚡ EV station verification submissions: 1 year (anonymised after 90 days)
- ⚡ Car verification documents: Auto-deleted after 30 days
- ⚡ Host charger listing data: Until the listing is deleted by the host
- ⚡ OCPI session/CDR data: 2 years for billing reconciliation
- Payment transaction records: 7 years as required under Indian financial regulations
- Growth Partner commission records: 7 years as required under applicable tax and financial laws
Otzoo is not intended for persons under 18 years of age. The Growth Partner Program and Host Your Charger feature require applicants to be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Otzoo is operated from India and serves users in multiple countries including India, Indonesia, and the Philippines. By using the app, international users consent to their data being processed and stored in accordance with Indian data protection laws and Supabase's data processing terms.
⚡ OTZOO Energy's EV charging features are currently optimised for India. OCPI 2.2.1 and Beckn/UEI integrations are India-focused. International EV station data may be available via Open Charge Map integration.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email at least 7 days before the changes take effect.
This policy was updated in July 2026 to include OTZOO Energy EV Charging features, Host Your Charger program, car verification data handling, OCPI 2.2.1 and Beckn/UEI protocol data, and related third-party services.
